GMAT 2013 Test Dates, Eligibility Criteria & Exam Pattern
The Graduate Management Admission Test is popularly known as GMAT 2013 and used by most of the B-Schools to enroll students into various MBA programmes. There were some small changes introduced in the exam format last year. Now, the exam has been divided into three different sections. The test takers will have to navigate their way through a quantitative section, a verbal section and an analytical writing assessment or AWA for short.
GMAT exam is delivered through computer in individual workstations. It is a Computer Adaptive Test. In this test, the difficulty level of each question depends upon the last question you have attempted. The first few questions in this exam is really important, if you attempt questions with higher difficulty and answer them right, the chances of scoring high increases more. The GMAT exam determine a test takers true ability by selecting questions based on previous answer and the test design. The maximum time allocated to solve this exam is 3 ½ hours. Across the world, most of the B-Schools accept GMAT scores to enrol students into management programmes, but there are some alternatives too.
GMAT2013 Exam pattern
The exam is divided into four major sections and each section needs to be completed within the given time frame. Each of the first two sections consist of multiple-choice questions delivered in a computer-adaptive format. Questions in these sections are dynamically selected as you take the test from a large pool of potential questions ranging from a low to high level of difficulty. If you reply first two-three questions correctly, the next questions will be harder, and if your answer is wrong you will face questions with low difficulty level. The same pattern will follow until you complete the sections.
Eligibility criteria for GMAT: There is no minimum educational qualification required to attempt this test. There is one condition that if a candidate is below 18 years and want to attempt this exam, in such situations he/she has to send a written form to GMAT Customer Services of his/her region signed by parents or local guardian. In this form of authorization such candidates to take the GMAT 2012 exam and states that the applicant and legal parents and guardians agree over all terms and conditions of the exam.
GMAT Registration Process & Exam Dates: The exam is conducted round the year, so there is no such issues that if you miss the exam you have to wait for another year to attempt this exam. In a year, you can attempt the exam maximum five times. But, if you have scored perfect 800, than you can re-attempt the exam only after 5 years.
Earlier registration: You can register yourself for the exam day, at least 6 months before the actual exam date.
Early registration: You can register yourself for the preferred exam day at least 2-3 months before the actual exam date.
Last chance for registration: In such situation you can register for the exam day by email or through mail 24 hours before the actual exam date.
In an ideal situation, candidates must register themselves at least 21 days prior to the actual exam date, which will allow your preferred colleges to receive test scores on time.
