It is not really tough to crack these entrance exams and secure a seat in leading engineering colleges. JEE is not only engineering exam in the country to get admission in engineering college, besides there are many other leading entrance exams such as BITSAT, VITEEE, WBJEE entrance exam and many more. Below is the list of top 10 engineering entrance exams, which an aspiring candidate can take after their Class 12th exams:
Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main: This exam is conducted to enrol students in leading NITs and IIITs of the country. The entrance exam has replaced the prestigious AIEEE exam. The candidates who will successfully clear the entrance exam and get good score in All India Ranking (AIR) will get admission on merit basis.
JEE Entrance Exam (JEE) Advances: The exam is held for enrolling students into various engineering programmes in leading IITs of the country. Only, those successful candidates who have cleared the JEE Main and ranked among top 1.5 lakh candidates will be able to attempt JEE Advanced. Those who will clear this JEE exam will get admission in premier IITs of the country. The admission will be given on the basis of merit list and class 12th board exam scores.
DCE Entrance Exam: Delhi College of Engineering conducts this Combines Entrance Exam, which is one of the most sought after exams for engineering. The exam is conducted by University of Delhi for enrolling students into various undergraduate engineering exams for Delhi Region candidates at Delhi College of Engineering known as Delhi Technological University and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology. Students must have passed class 12th examination with minimum 60% marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates who have appeared in their Class 10+2 final examinations may also apply for the entrance test.
VITEEE Entrance Exam: VITEEE will be an entrance exam for getting in various engineering courses in VIT for the upcoming academic session. Aspirants from across the country participate in this exam as it is one the famous exam in the country. Candidates must have completed class 12th from any recognised board. The admission will be given on the basis of entrance exam and score of class 12th.
BITSAT Entrance exam: BITSAT is a computer based online test generally conducted to enrol students for giving admission in integrated first year degree programme of BITS Pilani campus in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. The exam is conducted at all India level. Aspirants must have passed class 10+2 from any recognised board with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th examination. Candidates who are appearing for class 12th examination are also eligible to appear in this exam.
WBJEE Entrance Exam: West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam is conducted by West Bengal Examination Board. The entrance exam is generally conducted to select candidates for enrolling students for giving admission to the State Colleges on the basis of the result of a single competitive examination. Candidate should have cleared class 12th with minimum 60% marks with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Candidates who are appearing for class 12th final examination are also eligible to appear in the exam.
MHCET Entrance Exam: MH CET entrance exam is the Common Entrance Test, CET Maharashtra conducted for getting admission into various engineering colleges. Admission will be held in two different phases for the different levels of courses. Candidates must have cleared class 12th with at least 50% marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The minimum eligibility criteria are different for different courses.
EAMCET Entrance Exam: EAMCET entrance exam is conducted for enrolling students in Engineering, Agriculture and Medical programmes through this common entrance test. The aspiring candidates must have cleared the class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board. The entrance exam score is accepted by various government and private engineering and medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
KCET Entrance Exam: KCET entrance test is conducted for giving admission in various government/private un-aided and private aided professional education institutions in the Karnataka. Candidates must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent exam with at least 45% marks in aggregate. He/she must have passed class 10+2 with Physics/Mathematics and Chemistry.
KIITEE Entrance Exam: KIIT entrance exam is conducted online every year to enrol students into various undergraduate and post graduate courses in Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. The entrance exam is generally conducted online in the month of April. Candidates who have cleared their class 12th examination are eligible to appear in this exam. He/she must have passed class 12th with at least 60% marks with Physics, chemistry and Mathematics.
