GATE 2013 Analysis and Cut-offs

GATE 2013 was held between 20th Jan to 10th Feb, 2013. This year more than 12 lakh students appeared in this exam and the

GATE 2013 Result will be declared on 15th March, 2013. Both in online and offline mode comprises two papers. There were total 65 questions asked in the exam and duration of the exam was three hours. There was negative marking in exam. Candidates can check their answer key by visiting the official website.

GATE 2013 cut-off marks plays very significant role in overall selection procedure. It is mandatory test for those who want to take admission in M.E and M.Tech programmes in prestigious IITs, NITs and IISc. of the country. The cut-offs of all IITs, NITs and IISc. are different and will be decided separately by the managing board of respective college. GATE 2013 Paper Analysis:


In GATE 2013, there were 65 questions asked in the paper. The pattern of the paper was objective type, multiple choice questions. Out of 65 questions, 35 were of 2 marks each and 30 questions were of 1 mark each. The maximum numbers allocated in this exam are 100. There were 55 questions from technical subjects of each branch and 10 aptitude questions. There is negative marking for each wrong answer. For the questions which carried 1 mark, 1/3 marks will be deducted and 2 marks questions 2/3 will be deducted for each wrong reply.
 

GATE 2013 Aptitude Analysis:



The aptitude section on GATE was comparatively very easy this year. Out of 10 any student who have prepared well could have attempted 9 questions with score somewhere around 13. So the GATE 2013 indicates that this section will be very helpful to maximize the score for any student.
