The Common Entrance Test (CET) is taken by those candidates who want to get admission in professional courses but will also be taken by those who want to pursue in agricultural and other related subjects. Aspirants who want to get admission in agricultural, food science and veterinary science will have to appear in this test, which will be conducted on 1st May, 2nd and 3rd May, 2013.

The courses which will accept CET rank and score to enrol students include B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Sc. Sericulture, B.Sc. in Agri-Biotechnology, B.Sc. Horticulture, Bachelor of Home Science (BHSc.), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology), Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSAH), B.Tech in Food Technology, B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering, and B.Sc in Agricultural Marketing.

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) official said, "In the past, there were separate examinations for these courses that were conducted by respective universities. We decided to include them under CET as eligibility criteria for them are similar to professional courses like medical and engineering. This will ensure that students aren't hassled. They can sit for CET and take up various courses under agricultural universities after counselling."
