IIT-JEE 2013 Main Registration Process

Candidates seeking admission to various undergraduate programmes offers by NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded Technical institutions and various other state governments approved technical institutions required to appear in Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). JEE-Main exam will be the gateway for IIT-JEE Advanced entrance exam which will be taken by only successful 1.5 lakh candidates who have cleared the IIT-JEE main exam. The entrance exam scores will be used to get admission in various undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.

Those who will qualify the IIT-JEE Main entrance exam get admission on the basis of merit list prepared by the institutes such as IIITs, NITs and other participating institutions. Rank list will be prepared on the basis of 40% weightage to school Board marks in Class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE (Main). The weighate to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalisations.
 

JEE Main 2013 Eligibility Criteria


Candidates, who are born on or after 1st October, 1988 are eligible to appear in this exam. However, a candidate who belongs to SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years who are born on or after 1st October, 1983 are eligible to apply. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificates will only be considered.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • The minimum eligibility criteria to appear in JEE-Main 2013 is candidates must have passed Class 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination from a recognised board or university.
  • Those who are appearing Class 10+2 final examinations may also apply for the JEE Main examination.
  • Admission Criteria in the concerned institute or university will be followed as mentioned by the respective college/institute as per the guidelines of AICTE.
  • Candidates who want to get admission in NIT, IIITs or CFTIs must know the eligibility criteria as per their guidelines.

Year of Passing Qualifying Examination

Aspirants who have passed their Class 10+2 exam or any other equivalent exam or any other qualifying examination in 2011 or 2012 or those who are appearing in their Class 10+2 or any other qualifying examination in 2013 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) exam. Candidates, who have passed their Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2010 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2014 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) exam.

Online Registration Process for JEE 2013 Main


Candidates who want to appear in JEE Main 2013 are required to fill the registration form. All the aspirants are required to follow the instruction carefully to fill the registration form:

Step 1: To fill the application form online candidates should logon to the official website of JEE Main: http://jeemain.nic.in/

Step 2: In case if you are a new user click on the button of new user for registration of IIT-JEE 2013 page.

Step 3: Candidates are required to fill all the necessary information asked on the registration page.

Step 4: After filling all necessary information such as name, age, email id, password and other details, now click on submit button.

Step 5: After clicking on submit button that page will take you to another page where you can see your user id and password details.

Step 6: Now login again in the site with your user name and id and follow all the instructions mentioned on the page and fill the form.

Step 7: Candidates will be allowed to submit only one application form, multiple applications will be rejected.

Step 8: The name of the candidate must be same as mentioned and written in Class XIIth/Qualifying Examination.

Step 9: Once you fill in all the important details you can submit the fee either by credit/debit card or through Demand Draft. If you are making payment through Demand Draft, the same may be made in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi.

Step 10: While making the payment through Demand Draft, please mention computer generated application no. and name on the reverse side of Demand Draft.

Step 11: Candidates should send the computer generated confirmation page with photograph pasted, address written and signed by the candidates and his/her parent reach the JEE (Main) office. The completed confirmation page must be send only by registered/speed post to the Executive Director, JEE (Main)-2013 at the below address:

Step 12: Aspirants can check the status of their application on JEE (Main)-2013 website by giving the application number and date of birth.

Number of Attempts: A candidate can appear in JEE (Main) examination maximum three time.

 

IIT JEE 2013 Important Dates:



Candidates can download the JEE Main 2013 Admit Card from: 1st March, 2013

Pen paper based JEE Main 2013 examination will be held on: 7th April, 2013

JEE-Main online examination will be held on: 8th April, 2013

JEE-Main result 2013 will be declared on: 7th May, 2013

All India Rank/Category Rank of JEE-Main will be declared before: 7th July, 2013

JEE-Main Rank card can be downloaded from website on: 8th July, 2013

JEE-Advanced exam will be held on: 2nd June, 2013

JEE-Advanced exam result will be declared on: 23rd June, 2013
