AICTE to conduct CMAT from 17th May for upcoming session

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will held third Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for enrolling students for upcoming academic session of 2013-14. This exam will be conducted from 17th May to 20th May, 2013. All the aspirants who have missed the chance to appear in the exam in the first two sessions may also appear in this test.

S S Mantha, chairman of AICTE, said, "Several states had issued their CMAT notification late, and students were unable to take the test. We plan to hold the third CMAT from May 17 to 20. This is the only year, when we would conduct a third CMAT."Those students who are reappearing in the exam second time can use their best scores to get admission in the management institutes.

The second CMAT exam which was held in 2012 for 2013-14 batch was glitches free. It was conducted in 51 cities across the country. Around 20.5% of the total number of registered candidates-1.54 lakh-were to appear in the exam on the day one of the five day long exam window for online test. According to Mantha, in most of the cities more than 90% students on the first day appeared in the exam.
