DU introduced online admission process for PG courses

DU has made its postgraduate admission process online for the first time and also centralised its application schedule. The university has decided to award maximum 15% marks to interview or group discussion. The online application will remain open till 18th April, 2014.

Previously, faculties and departments issued their own schedule which includes application to entrance exam dates. But, from this year DU has decided to go with a common schedule, however the dates for entrance test will be finalised by the respective departments. DU has instructed the departments not to allow any overlapping of entrance tests as aspirants from all streams are eligible for interdisciplinary courses.

DU authorities informed that making the application process fully online was not easy task. Unlike undergraduate admissions, where OMR forms can be bought, the PG application forms are not available on the admission counters. Faculties will conduct interviews whereas GD will be held as per the discretion of the faculty and the maximum weightage for GD is not higher than 15%.

Ten different faculties and the Cluster Innovation Centre will offer different Post Graduate courses under different departments. The Cluster Innovation Centre will offer masters of mathematics education under the Meta University concept with collaboration Jamia Millia Islamia. In all, 58 PG programmes are available.
