IIT JAM 2014 Eligibility Criteria & Application Procedure

The Indian Institutes of Technology conduct the Joint Admission Test (JAM) for M.Sc. programmes from almost last 10 years. The main objective of this well acclaimed JAM exam is to give admission to different M.Sc., joint M.Sc.-Ph.D Dual Degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes at the IITs and to integrated Ph.D programmes at IISc. (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore based on the performance in a single test. JAM exam is expected to set a landmark for standardizing undergraduate level science education in the country.

JAM 2014 List of courses

Aspirants can pursue different courses such as M.Sc (Two Year), Joint M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc. Dual Degree and other post graduate degree programmes offered at IITs and the integrated Ph.D programmes at IISc as well.

Eligibility Criteria for JAM 2014

Aspirants who will pass the JAM 2014 required to meet the following eligibility criteria for getting admission in IISc, Bangalore and IITs of the country:

Eligibility Criteria for IISc, Bangalore: Candidates from General/OBC category must have secured at least 60% marks in graduation. Applicants from SC/ST category must have got at least 50% marks in the qualifying degree.

Eligibility Criteria for IITs: Candidates from General/OBC category must have secured at least 55% aggregate marks and candidates from SC, ST and PD category must have at least 50% aggregate marks including language and subsidiaries, all years combines in the qualifying degree. For Candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute.

Candidates are supposed to submit the proof of qualifying degree with the minimum education qualifications as specified by the admitting institutes.

Application Process JAM 2014

Aspirants can apply for JAM 2014 only through online process. The candidates can apply online by visiting the official website: http://gate.iitk.ac.in.jam from 16th September, 2013. The last date for filling up dully filled application form is 16th October, 2013.

Last date for payment of fee through challan : 12th October, 2013

Last date for closure of Online Registration on the website : 12th October, 2013

JAM Entrance Exam will be held on : 9th February, 2014
