Last minute tips to crack MAT 2013

MAT February 2013 is round the corner and aspirants are preparing hard to crack this exam. The exam is mandatory for those who want to get admission in AICTE approved B-Schools. If you want to score high in this exam, you must know how to prepare for it. There is no minimum eligibility criteria to appear in this exam, but one must possess at least a bachelors degree. Aspirants from any field such as humanities, science, business, engineering and other can appear in this exam. This is one of the oldest management exams and has lots of credibility. Though, IIMs do not accept MAT score to enrol students, but institutes such as Faculty of Management Studies, Amity University, JIMS Institute and many other leading institutes accept MAT test scores.

If you follow few simple steps and know the exam pattern well, you will surely get success. Here are some useful last minute tips to score crack the nutshell of the exam:

Read newspapers & Magazines: To know more about the latest happening and current affairs, read at least two-three different newspapers. Watch different news channels to keep yourself updated. This will keep you updated with current affairs and other latest developments across the globe.

Make notes: At the time of preparation or quick revision you should prepare short notes. It will help you in quick revision as you need not to go back to the books again and again to learn some formula or something.

Start early revision: Once you complete all subject, do not sit ideal, start your revision. It will help you to excel in all subjects and you will come to know which section requires more time.

Don’t try to be jack of all trades: If you are not strong in a particular topic or in few formulas, don’t waste time in learning them in last minute. Makes sure that you are not missing important points, but do not focuses more on such points in which you are weak or you hardly understand them.

Don’t start a new topic: While revising don’t start a new topic which you have left earlier, it will create more confusion and you will also waste your important time. Starting a new topic in last minute will be more time consuming.

Practice mock papers: Practice as much mock papers as you can. It will help you to get familiar with the pattern and increase your speed and accuracy.

Keep eye on time: When you are attempting online mock paper try to keep an eye on time you spend in solving a particular section, it will help you to increase your speed. If possible try to keep a stopwatch with you. All the sections consist 40 questions and you have just 150 minutes to solve it, so divide your time smartly.

Take breaks:All work, no play will make you dull, so take small breaks. After every two hours of study take a short breaks of 15 to 30 minutes to relax your body and mind. If you want, you can also take quick naps to refresh your mind. You can play some games or do other things as per your interest to refresh your mood.
