IIM-K to start centres in J&K to offer EPGP
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) has started two classroom centres, one in Jammu and the other in Kashmir, as part of the Institute’s aim to make the premium Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP), accessible to working executives in different parts of the country.
As per an IIMK release issued, the initiative would throw an opportunity to enhance managerial and leadership skills of the locals who were forced to move to major cities to pursue their higher education. Executives serving in Indian Army would be benefited as they world now have access to formal learning of management functions which they could apply in their professional life.
Institute’s director Debashis Chatterjee said the IIMK stands by its commitment to the nation for helping the marginalised sections of India’s youth in its quest for excellence. “Our footprints in Jammu and Kashmir will pave the way for opening the doors of management education to those who need it the most.”
Flagship Programme:
This EPGP is flagship programme is specially designed for working professionals, which are offered through in-campus classes and interactive learning platform classes conducted during evening and weekends. IIMK offers this programme with its technology partner Hughes Education. As per Atanu Adhikari, chairman of the programme, this initiative is based on its socially participative academic philosophy.
Last month, IIM-K also announced the admission of 54.49 per cent women students in its postgraduate programme batch 17 which reduced the male-female gender difference in the classrooms for the first time in the history of IIMs.
