JEST Entrance Test 2013 & Application procedure

Aspirants who want to get admission in Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science in on the participating institutes may take this Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) at one of the allocated exam centres. Every institute has their own eligibility criteria for enrolling students. Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination

Eligibility Criteria for JEST 2013

• Candidates must have completed M.Sc. in Physics or M.Sc./M.E/M.Tech in related discipline
• Candidates who have done M.Sc. in Mathematics/Applied Physics/Applied Mathematics/Optics and Photonics/Instrumentation/Electronics are also eligible
• B.E or B.Tech will also be eligible at IISc., IMSc., IUCAA, JNCASR, NCRA-TIFR, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram and SNBNCBS.

Theoretical Computer Science

• Candidates who have completed M.Sc./M.Tech./M.C.A in Computer Science and related discipline

Integrated M.Sc./M.Tech./Ph.D programme

• Candidates with Bachelor's degree can also apply for Ph.d programme in Physics
• Bachelors in Science/mathematics/statistics/computer science/information technology/engineering are also eligible to apply
• B.Sc.(Physics)/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Instrumentation/Engineering Physics/Electronics and Communications/Computer Science and Engineering/Optics and Photonics can also apply

JEST 2013 Application Procedure

Aspirants can apply online or by ordinary post for the entrance exam. To apply by post candidates are required to send a request for printed application along with self-addressed stamped envelop with postage of Rs. 40/- affixed on it, by post to the following address:
