DU colleges set tough admission eligibility criteria
Applicants across the country are eagerly waiting for the first cut-off list of the different colleges under Delhi University. This year, many colleges has set tough eligibility criteria for their much sought after commerce course.
Dyal Singh College, which comes under the South Campus is one of them, as it has fixed 85% for maths and 85% for Economics in Boards as basic eligibility criteria for getting into Economics Honours.
This step might disappoint many Economics Honours aspirants, had led to exclusion of many students who took science and hot Economics in their Class XII Board, or Commerce students who did not take up Maths.
Dyal Singh College principal Inderjeet Bakshi, said, “It is true that we have set this as our eligibility criteria for admission into Economics Honours in our college, but we would look into the matter at the admissions committee meet of the college.”
He further added, “However, for B.Com Honours we have removed Maths as an eligibility criteria as per the university regulations. The cut-off list for all the programmes will be announced on 27th June as schedules by Delhi University.
