DU announced admission guidelines for 4 year format
Delhi University from this year has launched new 4 year undergraduate programmes for coming session. It formally, inaugurated the admission process for much talked about four-year undergraduate courses. It has published the guidelines on its website, aspirants can read all related information and details related to admission process. It has introduced these new programmes to do away with the existing four year programmes, but these programmes are still in its beginning. The admission policy of DU has not seen many changes this year.
As per the recently published notification, admission into the four-year programme will be done on major discipline. Aspirants will have to choose one major discipline in which they will be awarded an Honours or a B.Tech degree after successful completion of four years. Students can study up to two subjects as minor discipline, which they can choose after first year.
Students will be required to fill pre-admission forms- available online or sold over the counter at the university level. This year there will be no form for specific colleges, rather students are required to opt for courses.
Colleges will enrol students who will meet the desired qualification and marks. The guidelines stated, "No first-come-first served policy is permitted."
This year colleges will enrol students who will meet the cut-off percentage. According to the guidelines, “No first-come-first served policy is permitted.” Besides, students can’t take admission in two courses or in two colleges at the same time.
