FMS campus placement session not so shinny, unable to place everyone

The campus placement session of Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, was bit longer this year, moreover, it failed to place all the students. As per the FMS sources, last year the highest domestic salary was Rs. 32 lakh, whereas this year it is just Rs. 26.8 lakh. On the other side, the highest international package too witnessed a hit of Rs. 12 lakh. Last year, it was Rs. 72 lakh and this year it dropped to Rs. 60 lakh. Besides, 11 students of the batch of 216 did not get any offer. Five students opted out the placements, while 46 received pre-placement offers.

According to the annual placement report, which was released on Sunday stated that the year has been satisfactory despite the dull economic scenario. The most positive aspect in this year’s placement has been the median salary this year, however, which has increased by 14% this year, recording Rs. 16lakh per annum.

In this placement session, 93 companies participated, out of these 31 were new recruiters. The maximum has been placed in the sales and marketing 39% followed by consulting and general management 27% and banking, financial services and insurance 21%.

Capgemini Management Consulting was the largest recruiter with maximum 12 offers. General management roles were amongst the most sought after on campus this year. Some other companies which offered general management roles included Tata Administrative Services, Mahindra and Mahindra, Reliance Industries Ltd and HCL.
