VITEEE 2013 Entrance Exam : Eligibility Criteria & Exam Date

Existence of various technical institutes and entrance exams has made the admission race more complex for students. To make admission process simple and hassle free, the government has decided to scrap various entrance exams and to conduct single entrance exam across the country for enrolling students. But, this project will take time to get implemented across the country and introduction of JEE advanced and Main is first step towards this. There are some state level exams, which students can take to get admission in engineering and technical colleges.

VITEEE is one among these most sought after exams. VITEEE entrance exam for bachelor technical courses is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology. Vellore Institute of Technology is ranked among the top technical institutes of the country. The institute offers many technical courses to aspiring candidates. If you want to secure a seat in any of the programme you have to appear in VITEEE entrance exam conducted by the institute. The admission will be given on the basis of scores of the entrance exam and ranking in the VITEEE.

Eligibility for VITEEE 2013 exam:

Nationality: Candidates should be a resident/non-resident Indian national

Qualifying Examination: Candidates who want to take VITEEE entrance exam should have either completed their Class 10+2 from a recognised board or must be appearing in one of the following qualifying examinations:
 

• Appearing in the final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher, Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board,
• Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE)
• Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board/University
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Office, Geneva.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• The final examination of the Class 12th under Higher Secondary Examination conducted by State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE)

Eligibility Criteria for qualifying examination

Candidates who are appearing for the VITEEE 2013 should have obtained at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination. Candidates must have secured in the subject Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) in Class 12th or its equivalent put together should be 50% for the following categories:

Candidates who belong to SC/ST must fill the form which will be available in the information brochure and it has to be attested by competent authority.

Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1991 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2013. The date of birth recorded in the High School/SSC/X Certificate will be considered as authentic and final.
