Preparation Tips for upcoming entrance exam 2013

Most of the colleges and institutes enroll students on their performance in entrance exam conducted at state level or national level. There are many groups of colleges, which work together and conduct entrance exam at national level. These common entrance exams are designed to judge the knowledge and understanding of subjects of candidates. By conducting such exams, these colleges choose the creamy layer among all aspirants. That’s why entrance exams have become first choice of these colleges to enrol students. The competition is really stiff, and now cracking an entrance exam need well planned strategy and dedicated efforts. Here are some useful tips for preparing for entrance exam:
 

  • Understand the exam pattern: This is really important that before you start preparing for the exam, first understand pattern of the exams such as what type of questions will be asked in the exam, what will be difficulty level, marking system and total number of questions. Ensure that you get familiar with the pattern first before starting your preparation.
  • Prepare for objective questions first: Most of the questions asked in the entrance exams are objective type, questions asked are multiple answer type, objective questions. Try to ensure that you prepare for such questions first, as such questions will work as booster for your overall score.
  • Manage your time well: It is important that you manage your time well. Don’t just concentrate on one subject solely, or don’t just prepare for one paper or two papers only. As most of students attempt different entrance exams with their board exams too, so make sure that you divide your time well. So you don’t miss even a single subject during your preparations.
  • Read newspapers and magazines: Make sure you read at least two-three papers to get latest updates what’s happening around the world. This will help in general knowledge based questions.
  • Brush your basics: While preparing for any exam make sure that you have good understanding of basics of different subjects. Almost, all subjective questions are based on basic rules of respective subjects, so bush them well to score high.
  • Take practice papers: This is best way to get familiar with exam pattern and improve your speed and accuracy for the exam. While attempting the exam makes sure that you finish the exam on time. Take as much papers as you can to increase you speed.
  • Skip question if you stuck: Don’t waste your precious 15 or 20 minutes in solving single question if you get stuck. Skip such questions and attempt a new question, in a way you will attempt at least all those questions which you can solve easily.
  • If negative marking, avoid random guess: If there is negative marking in the exam, avoid random guess, if you are full confident about a particular answer, than only take the risk of making a guess.
  • Avoid stress and tension: Entrance exam is important, but it is not everything. Don’t make it matter of your life, taking too much tension and stress will affect your concentration and performance. Try to keep you mind stress and tension free.
  • Make short notes: At the time of revision make short notes, which will be helpful in speeding up your revision. It is best that you make notes with your own abbreviations, so that you don’t need to go back to books again and again to clear your fundamentals.
