AICTE declared CMAT result, not even single girl in top 15

AICTE has declared the most awaited result of CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) entrance exam. Hendre Omkar Pravinchandra from Kolhapur has topped in CMAT exam. This exam has been conducted for admission in management programme in various management institutes in the country. The average score of the students in this exam was 69.91 percent. Omkar, who appeared in the exam from Delhi, has scored 317 out of 400. Total 88,942 students attempted this exam. S S Manth, AICTE chairman, said, there were 438 students who scored zero and 1,771 students who get negative marking. The lowest score was -45 as the test has negative marking also.

This time not even a single girl managed to grab a seat among the top 15, top 19 seats went to boys. CMAT scores are used by institutes in different states to enrol students into various management programmes under government quota. There are many private institutes which also offer admission to students on the basis of CMAT score.

The online test was conducted from 20th to 24th February, 2014 for the coming academic session. Candidates who have already appeared in the first test were allowed to reappear for the second test so that candidates can use the better score to get admission. Manth also said that it was proposed to conduct CMAT off-shore and conduct it in South and South East Asian countries.
