IIM-C Final Placements: Significant rise in salary with variety of roles

IIM-Calcutta (IIM-C) has completed its final placements for its batch of 2014. This year, the institute noticed a remarkable hike in the salary offered to students. Students also received variety of roles from different companies. This is another important chance noticed by all was the increased number of offers for international roles.

Most of the Pre-Placement offers (PPOs) came from consulting companies such as McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Bain and A.T. Kearney which gave 27 offers. This year, Boston Consulting Group and Accenture Management Consulting made the maximum number offers in this sector with 12 offers from each company, however Opera made five offers. In this process, Amazon emerged as the biggest recruiter with maximum number of offers to students.

In this placement drive many banks also participated and recruited talent for its investment banking divisions (IBD) were Citi Bank, Bank of AmericaMerrill Lynch, Edelweiss and BNP Paribas among others. Finance firms that made offers this year included Nomura, Royal Bank of Scotland, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Macquarie, Dunia Finance, Edelweiss, Kotak IBD, ICICI, DBS, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank and IDBI among others.

Students received job offers for general management roles from from TAS, Aditya Birla Group, Mahindra, Airtel, RIL, CK Birla, Cairn India while marketing firms which hired from the campus included HUL, P&G, ITC, Nestle, Asian Paints, Alshaya, Mondelez, Dabur, PepsiCo and others.
