Last date for JEE Main online form submission is Dec 26

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main (Paper-I) online form submission application process will close on 26th December, 2013. The JEE Main will also be the qualifying exam for admission to engineering colleges across the country, which accept the test scores of JEE for admissions.

The state directorate of technical education (DTE) has issued a notification to the students, who want to apply for the exam, to consider the dates of online form submission schedule. Till 2012, the state government conducted the Maharashtra Health and Technology-Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET), which was the joint entrance exam for admission to the first-year degree courses in health science, pharmacy and engineering in the state.

Besides, after the government’s decision to join the Medical Council of India’s single entrance test called the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for health science courses from year 2013. The NEET has since been scrapped by the Supreme Court. For enrolling students in engineering and technology courses, the state government has decided to join the JEE Main, which will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the month of April, 2014. Accordingly, there will be no MT-CET from 2014 onwards and all admission to engineering and technology institutions in the state will be done on the basis of the JEE Main score.
