XLRI added more seats in MBA HR for academic session 2014-16

The prestigious XLRI institute, Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur will be increasing the number of seats for its sought after two-year full-time programme in Human Resource Management (PGDM-HRM) seats from 120 to 180 from the coming academic year, with the approval of AICTE.

As per Dr. Vishwa Ballabh, Admission in-charge, the placement scenario in the institute has indicated that there is a demand for HRM, and hence they decided to increase the seats.

Prof Ballabh has also reminded the XAT 2014 candidates to apply to XLRI besides appearing in the XAT exam. “Often applicants think that just taking the exam ensures them entry into the admission process, this is not the case.” Candidates who want to apply for other XLRI courses including Global MBA need to apply additionally for these programmes.

Prof. Ballabh said about the registration for the XAT, that last year the numbers are same as last year. He further replied, “I expected a 15-20% increase but at least the numbers have not gone down.” Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is an entrance examination is conducted by Xavier Labour Relation Institute (XLRI) School of Business Management. XAT scores are generally used to give admission to candidates in the MBA and other management courses at XLRI and in 100 other business schools in the country. XAT will be held on 5th January, 2014.
