More than 110 companies offered internships to IIM-A PGP batch

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has completed its summer internship process for its post graduate programme batch 2013-15. In this season, more than 110 companies participated in the summer placement process offered various good opportunities to students in the sectors such as investment banking and finance, private equity, consulting, consumer goods and services, sales and marketing, technology, internet and e-commerce.

This year indicates a new trend where some students opted for pursue their internships in offbeat sectors to explore career in social and regulatory roles. Some students also chosen start-up companies in the ‘Entre Fair’ organised at campus to complete their internships.

Tanishq Goyal, recruitment secretary of IIM-A, said, “In terms of number of offers, Boston Consulting Group was the top recruiter across clusters having picked 14 students from campus.”

The institute followed a cohort-cluster based pattern, in which companies which were offering same kind of profiles to students were grouped into cohorts and a selected number of cohorts are invited to campus to carry out recruiters during a particular cluster.
