HRD ministry to set up offline test centres in Hyderabad

The Union HRD ministry is “actively considering” to establish test centres in Hyderabad for conducting the offline JEE (Main) exam in April, 2014. This year, large number of students have filled the application form the city. It is really tough for students of the city to travel to the some other place to appear in the exam. From last two years there were no test centres in the city, students were travelling to other cities to appear in the exam.

Last year, almost 70,000 students and their parent from the city were forced to travel to Warangal, Khamman, Guntur etc for the test. Test centres for the online mode of JEE (Main) were available in the city since 2012, but there were no students from the city who want to take this exam. The large number of students who travel from Hyderabad to other nearby cities to appear in this exam had been causing traffic jams and accommodation problem for many. Parents have to bear huge expenses for travel, boarding and lodging facilities.

CBSE official said that the Union minister of HRD Pallam Raju had recently written to the board to consider establishing the exam centres in Hyderabad, and it was under “active consideration.”

The Joint Admission Board (JAB) had recently released the schedule for JEE (Main) 2014. The entrance test will be held on 6th April, 2014 and the result of the exam will be declared on 3rd May, 2014. The application process will begin from 15th November and the last date for process is 16th December, 2013.,/p>
