More international students at IIM-A PGPX batch 2013-14

This year, IIMs has raised their bar by enrolling more international students at IIM-A Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX). The numbers of foreign students have doubled at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahemdabad. There are total 85 students, out of 12 are foreign students with six foreign citizens. This year, the institute managed to enrol double number of women students as well.

The eighth batch of the IIMA’s PGPX (2013-14) was started recently. The average GMAT score of the batch of 85 students is 71 with average age of 34 years and average total work experience of 10 years and two months. The average international work experience of the batch is nearly three years.

In this batch, 11 women students are enrolled, where as the number was six last year. Of the 85 students, 24 students are residing outside India. Besides, there are 76 students who have international exposure in term of studies and work. There are 37 students in the batch who have higher qualification than bachelor degree, and 16 students have obtained their degrees outside their home country. This year too, engineering students managed to create their dominance in the class with capturing almost 80% seats. Among them total 21 students have graduated from IIT/NITs as per the press release issued by IIM-A.

These students have worked with different sectors such as travel, BPO, education, defense, airlines, energy and power, financial services, government services, healthcare, hospitality services, infrastructure, IT and IT services, management consultancy, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing process, media, NGOs, retail, shipping and telecom. As many as 29 students have work experience in IT and IT services sector.
